Hi there! We are Anneke and Ivar from the Netherlands. We love to travel and often travel by bicycle. From January until March 2016 we will be cycling in New Zealand. We will fly to Christchurch and from there the plan is roughly cycling first 2 months on the South Island. After that we will then hop over to the North Island and spend our last month there. We are very excited, if you want to get excited as well, subscribe to the blog and stay posted. Oh yes, did I mention we are Dutch, so please excuse the English spelling mistakes we are bound to make…

This blogs name has a double meaning. We love penguins and we will also go slow by bike. Even for average cyling standards, we just take the time to enjoy ourselves. The combination of going slow and these awesome NZ penguins signs was quick to make.

Anneke

Hola, here is a little something about me, and things I enjoy most. Although in work life I spend my time indoors on food science, my heart goes out to being outdoors. And while out on the bike or on foot, my camera goes along. I have always been keen on taking a bit more than the average holiday picture and hope to still improve this. I guess there is lots of time to practice in New Zealand 😉

I have been touring by bike for over 15 years now and just love passing through amazing landscape sceneries such as those encountered in Canada, Norway or Morocco. Me saying: ooh and aah, with a big smile on my face. Getting excited now, new adventures are about to start ☺

Ivar

Hi there, I’m Ivar and I love cycling and ultimate frisbee. Though I haven’t travelled by bike as much as Anneke has, I have seen a lot of places already. Amongst others the Himalayas in Nepal and the city of Hong Kong. Besides that I am Annekes packmule. All the heavy gear somehow shows up in my bags instead of hers.  I am very excited to finally go and see New Zealand, which has been on the top of my list already for a very long time.

One of the things I will do in New Zealand is play around with my new friend: The GoPro hero 4 Silver. As this thing is totally new to me I will also try to keep a blog about my findings about it, I hope I can update it every now and then. Find it here: The GoPro project.
